If a OB patient is being seen for a normally scheduled visit, and states no complications, and a routine UA is performed with results showing proteinuria. The question is regarding the ICD 10 diagnosis for this visit. Per ACOG guidelines, the level of proteinuria present upon testing is not considered high risk. So, is it appropriate to code a Z34 for this visit? Or would the O12 code be the correct choice? Also, if the O12 is the correct choice, what would be the diagnosis for the intent of encounter at this visit?
