A physician in the group is seeing patients for weight loss and is stating that the weekly/biweekly visits for weigh in and counseling can be billed under behavior counseling codes G0447- medicare patients and 99401-99404 commercial insurance patients. He states that the RN working under his supervision
can document this visit and time spent and this can be billed under him.
Would appreciate any information one has on billing for these services.
 
As long as incident to guidelines are met, yes it can be billed under the supervising MD. That's true for most services within the scope of practice of an RN
