Hello everyone,

Hope I can get some clarification on this. I was told the Z34.01, Z34.02 , and Z34.03 are required to also have a Z3A. (Gestational Age) but I have always seen based on the guidelines it says only a gestational age should be appended to the O code in Chapter 15 and the Z34 codes I do not see any mention of a gestational age requirement.

Hoping for clarification!
 
Coding guidelines do require a Z3a.XX code in addition to any 'O' codes. Coding the Z34.XX does not require a Z3a.XX code in addition to itself.
