I have a patient that was consulted by Cardiology because she had a pacemaker placed that day. Everything went well and the patient was stable. She was seen again the next day by the same cardiologist and then admitted by him for pacer malfunctions. How does the doc get paid for his services? Do I just bill for the admit?:confused:
 
There is one thing i didn't mention. The cardiologist did not perform the pacemaker placement surgery. The surgeon requested a cardiology consult the day he performed the surgery. So my cardiologist has a dictated note for a consult, then he has another for the next day as an admit..:eek:
