How should we bill for a patient admitted to observation by our provider however, our provider did not see patient until day 2 at 8:00 a.m.? patient had procedure and then The patient is ready for discharge on day 2 as well.) The attending saw the patient only that one calendar date. Should the attending bill the second day as a same-day admit and discharge (99234-99236)? There is a H&P and also a discharge note for same day.
