Hello everyone:

Hope you all have a wonderful upcoming weekend. I have another question and need a refresher please..

We were called to come to the hopsital to see a patient who was in observation for 1 day and our doc did a consultation; this is a (Medicare patient), I would use the codes 99201-99205 as out patient 22 if we never seen the patient before and 99212-99215 if we have correct?

if they were a registered outpatient observation that is correct. If they were a registered inpatient even though only 1 day then no you use the inpatient initial visit codes.
