Help!

A patient was placed in Observation on the first date. Overnight (next day) the patient received critical care services, on the same date the provider decides to change the patient status to Inpatient. My question for the 2nd day is: Can both the Initial Inpatient admit and critical care stand?

The reason I am going back and forth on this is b/c I know if the patient was admitted due to critical care, the provider cannot use an Initial visit. However, since the patient was placed in Observation on the first date, does that rule apply for the second date?

I think I am overthinking but would really love some advice.

Thanks!
