For clarification: Patient comes in on 9/4/13 at 23:45pm and the resident sees the patient immediately- the physician sees the patient on 9/5/13 at 2:00am with an attestation to the resident note- the question is: what date of service and cpt code(s) goes on the final encounter for the observation billing?
