We have a cardiologist who started performing optical coherence tomography during heart caths. We are struggling to get them paid as almost all of them have denied for medical necessity for all payers. We have been doing appeals, sending records, and a letter of med necessity. It then goes to a peer to peer which isn't always easy getting the provider to call.
Would anyone be able to provide me with any input of how you are getting yours paid? If you are doing the same things we are or if you are having success using a different approach?
