Can anyone help me with these new CPT codes pertaining to the ocular surface reconstruction with use of amniotic membrane. We are having a discussion as to
what actually constitutes a "multiple layer". I don't think that this description fits if the doctor is placing the graft on one surface and folds it over. Am I wrong? I feel that the multiple layer is placing two or more graft layers on the surface. My doctors usually use one graft and secure it down on the scleral surface with tisseel glue and then will glue it to the conjunctiva. Which makes the correct code to use to be 66999 right?

Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it.
