I am just needing some clarification on some coding that my physician is wanting to do --- Physician is bringing patient in specifically for an Occipital Nerve Block but knows that the patients insurance is not going to cover the procedure. So she is wanting to not bill for the ONB and only bill an office visit for the patient so that insurance will pay. She says that she will have an office note on file. I am uncomfortable with even thinking about doing this-- is there some type of documentation that would show me otherwise or something that I could show the physician that this does not need to be done this way. I have looked at different places and just not finding what I need for answers.
