This whole telemedicine has got me confused....I hope someone can clarify it for me. If we use video methods for a patient do I use a 99212-99215 (established patient) with a modifier GT or 95? And do I use the POS 02?

Each insurance is different. This is what we have been going by. These are the ones we have actually sent claims to so far.


Video (99201-99215)
  1. Aetna - POS 2 - Modifier 95 or GT
  2. Ambetter (Magnolia Health) - POS 2 - Modifier 95 or GT
  3. BCBS - POS 2 - Modifier 95 or GT
  4. Cigna - POS 11 - Modifier 95 or GT
  5. Medicare - POS 11 - Modifier 95
  6. Tricare East - POS 2 - Modifier GT
  7. UHC/UMR. Golden Rule/etc - POS 11 - Modifier 95

Hi, so nice to compare notes! We match. as of 6/25 BCBS requiring 11 and 95 for BCBS Medicare. Also, Aetna is the same 11 and 95 for Aetna Medicare.
Some others: Avmed 2/95, Care Plus 11 and 95, Humana 11 and 95.
Thanks for the info on Tricare!
 
I have been billing 11 POS with 95 modifier and so far I have not had any claims denied. I hope this continues with zero denied claims.
