Ok, so my office currently bills for a Homeopathic/Acupuncture Center. Which I would consider a center with specific services. Patients are referred there for pains and aches for which they would rather not take drugs.
Hypothetical Situation:
A patient is referred to the center for back pain. The attending sees the patient to evaluate the back pain and a decision to perform acupuncture is made.
How would you code that?
Would you give the DR the office visit with a -25 and the acupuncture, or would you just bill for the acupuncture because that is what the center does and the reason for which the patient was referred?
And can you provide rules and/or guidelines to support?
