Hello, I need some assistance with billing for a hospital call for an Oral Surgeon. Typically, the dental code we bill for a hospital call, or any surgery needing to be performed in the hospital is code D9420. The old biller in my office says to not bill these to medical insurance and the patient is responsible for the cost. What about Medicare patients? Do we bill this to Medicare? Do we write it off, or is the patient responsible for the cost? Is there a CPT crosswalk code that someone has had success with?

Thank you!
