Provider A delivers baby. Provider B is provider on call at hospital. Not affiliated with provider A and no arrangements. Can Provider B bill for services rendered in the hospital? If so what would they bill, subsequent hospital code? They will not be seeing the patient outside of the hospital. TIA

Are you indicating that Provider B had to deal with an emergency complication? If so he would bill a subsequent hospital care code. There should be no reason for him to the see the patient for routine PP inpatient visit if delivered by Provider A who should be billing globally for his/her care during the pregnancy.
