Wiki OP Co-Pays

We have a situation that has occurred and wonder if there is a modifier that could be used to identify such cases. The case is that a patient comes to our facility for an outpt. EP service and due to complications is sent to another facility for stenting on that same date of service. Insurance is assessing 2 co-pays for that date of service; is there any modifier that either facility could use that would identify for the payer that although two different facilities are submitting claims, that it is continuation of care?

That issue is usually policy driven and nothing you can do about it.
