I am getting an edit for a simple suture of skin of finger for an open dislocation. The manipulation is ok but the edit says simple suture is unlikely for dx code of open dislocation. It doesn't seem right to add dx of open wound because that is what makes the dislocation open. Here is my code set
834.12
26770 RT
12001 59
facility side anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance! L Henderson CPC-A

You're right

You shouldn't add the dx of open wound because that is part of the open dislocation. For the same reason simple (not necessarily complex) suturing is viewed as bundled into the treatment. You can try a 59 but that would be a questionable approach.
