Hello,
I am trying to code a laparoscopic tubotubal anastomosis. The CPT book lists 58750. However, I think if it is not specified as laparoscopic it is considered an open procedure, am I correct? I feel that close enough is not good enough and want to submit the procedure with 58679 (unlisted laparoscopic procedure, oviduct, ovary). Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you.

Unlisted Laparoscopic

I agree - if there is no defninite code for the laparascopic procedure, then use the unlisted laparascopic code. Base your fee on the open code.

Hope that helps.
