Does anyone know of a good ophthalmology coding book ? I have read serveral places that 92225 & 92226 should be included with a new office visit but others say different. I am looking for realiable information that i can refer back to. Any help would be appreciated.
 
I use Ingenix Ophthalmology coding companion. As for the 92225 I have used this code with new patient visits. It all depends what the Physician requires to make the proper diagnosis. If a patient presents with what may be a retinal detachment the Physician may require an extended ophthalmoscopy. Hope this helps.
