Can anyone tell me EXACTLY where I can find the guidelines with regard to where the Ordering Phys has to be available in the office or clinic suit in order to charge out chemo infusion?
We have an ongoing problem where the clinic feels that all chemo charges should be billed under the doctor who order the chemo. However there are times that the actual date the chemo is given that particular doctor may be out of the office. Billing feels that the doctor should be in the the clinic in order to bill the chemo under that doctors name and if he is not than whomever is on call for that doctor is the one under whom chemo tx needs to be billed.
I need hard & fast rules in writing. Please help!
