If an orthopedic surgeon and neurosurgeon perform a spinal surgery together is this billed as co-surgery?

Depends on the work. If each Surgeon performs separately the work of a single CPT code, then no. If Both Surgeons perform together the work of a single CPT code, then yes. Example: Ortho performs Arthrodesis and Neuro performs Decompression: These are 2 separate CPT codes and each Surgeon bills Separate. Ortho Performs Osteotomy and Neuro Performs Decompression then -62 is needed because Decompression is included in the work of the Osteotomy code. Hope this helps.
