What needs to be documented during a total knee arthroplasty when the using the new OrthoSensor device?Our doctors document that Orthosensor technology was utilized and proceed to describe the balancing performed using Orthosensor.
Many of our carriers do NOT pay for this and we have elected as a practice to NOT pursue the patient for this expense if it is determined to be unpayable as it is being denied mainly as "included".

Thank you that does help quite a bit. What code are you using to bill for this? Do you receive many insurance denials as "experimental"?
