Our oncology practice has recently taken on an intern to assist our doctors with performing hospital consults and hospital rounds of our established patients.
My questions are:
1) would any modifiers be required on the billing of these hospital outpatient services? (i.e. 99255, 99233, 99232)
2) does dictation and/or progress notes performed by the intern need to have an addendum by the attending physician as to their time spent with the patient and/or address the training given to the intern in regards to this specific patient?
