I have a question regarding EMR and billing software, specifically to a HOPD/WCC setting.

Scenario: Two line items are entered on a claim. The first is a regular CPT assigned with a specific APC, so an associated billed charge was entered. The second line item is an unlisted code, however; we would like to enter a $0 charge.

Does anyone know if the software would accept $0 for a charge or if it would kick it back and require a value greater than $0?
