Wiki Outside Consultation - Help....

In Sugrical Pathology the documentation states "the case was send to outside consultation". Our documentation also have the addendums in which, the procedures performed outside (electron microscopy, immunofluorescent study, etc..), are also attached.

Our physician has given all the CPTs (including the procedures performed outside). I am unsure that it is appropriate to bill the procedures performed outside.

I would appreciate if anybody can help me on this...

Did the Dr purchase the procedures from the outside consultant?

That's the key. If you didn't purchase the services, you don't bill for them. The reference lab will bill for them themselves.
