If my PA assists a surgeon from another group who came down to the ED to perform a procedure, is there a modifier I can use to bill indicating my PA's involvement? Is modifier 80 not appropriate?

Thanks,
Tiffany, CPC

You should use modifier AS when a PA asists at surgery. Check first with the carrier to be sure that an assistant is allowed for the procedure you are billing.
