Hello,

Providers are entering charges for Programming device evaluation CPT 93279-93285 or Interrogation device evaluation CPT 93288-93292 with modifier 26 in our office setting.

Can modifier 26 be used in an office setting whether they did the procedure of inserting the device or not. Many patients have had their devices for a couple years and just coming in for recheck.

Just a bit confused if modifier 26 is even appropriate in an office setting.
