How would this be coded please: Patient presents to OP radiology dept--Order is written as follows: PAIN in shoulder and forearm.
Impression: Fracture of surgical neck of humerus with ORIF in place. Non healing due to time frame since injury.

Would I code the fracture then pain or vice versa?

You do not use the fx code since it has been repaired and you do not code the pain as this is not a visit for pain mgt. since it is diagnosed as a non healing fx, for ICD-9 coding use the code for non-healing fx. For ICD-10 CM, use the 7th character for non-healing subsequent appended to the fx code.
