Hello!

Any suggestions for a pap done under mac? looks like general guidance is to just use 57410 but in optum's obgyn coding companion it says this code is to be used for anesthesia other than local and I beleive MAC is considered local? not sure if it's considered something other than local, but also not general.
Any help would be appreciated! She had it done this way because history of past trauma

Hi, Local would be a shot/topical directly in/on the site. MAC qualifies as "other than local" it is systemic, has to be monitored, etc. I would go with 57410
