Paranoid schizophrenia is not listed in DSM-V, only schizophrenia is. ICD 10 code for paranoid schizophrenia is F20.0. Since I'm not very familiar with DSM-V my question is how common is it for DSM-V to not have diagnosis criteria for an ICD-10 code? Hope that makes sense.

Unfortunately with DSM5 and ICD-10 there is no 1:1 match. There was with DSM4 and ICD-9. We had to educate our providers to document the specificity for ICD-10 in order to assign an accurate ICD-10 dx. You may need to look at your EHR also to make sure they have it mapped correctly to have the provider chose the correct ICD-10 code once the DSM5 is entered. Mapping can be different depending on your EHR and their knowledge of coding.
