How would you report the following: if a patient comes in and receives an injection from a one time use vial but only part of it was given and the rest was wasted.
I know that there is a JW modifier that can be used, but wasn't sure how this should be listed on the claim form

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!:)

In the new coding edge magazine this month it states that you would bill the medicine just like you would normally the the next line would have the remaining medicine with the jw modifer and you should be paid for the remaining medicine not used it my understanding-hope this helps or if different let me know---FOR ONE TIME USE OF VIALS ONLY
