Providers are billing G0177 and G0176, along with the 90853 Psychotherapy Group code. Should the activities and education training sessions be billing separately or should be bundled with the 90853?

G0177 and G0176 are specific activity or training therapy counseling codes, reported when those types of educational therapies are employed--and not defined as being in the group setting, but for 45" or more. The 90853 is a generic psychotherapy group---could be about any topic or any treatment modality... an eating disorders group, fear of abandonment group, etc. You wouldn't bill both, you would bill one or the other if only a single group session or single activity session is being reported.
