Wiki Patient admitted for superimposed Pre eclampsia with severe features

Hello,

I’m not sure how to code this. Patient is 35 weeks pregnant and admitted for superimposed preeclampsia with severe features. What ICD 10 code would I choose for that? I know if the features were not severe it would be from the O11 Group, but being that it’s severe I’m not sure what to use?

Use when preeclampsia develops in a patient with pre-existing hypertension.

Pre-existing hypertension with new onset proteinuria ≥300mg/24h

Gestational hypertension without significant proteinuria

Use when hypertension develops after 20 weeks of gestation without proteinuria.

Blood pressure readings ≥140/90 mmHg after 20 weeks gestation

Preeclampsia

Use when hypertension is accompanied by significant proteinuria.

Blood pressure readings ≥140/90 mmHg with proteinuria ≥300mg/24h
