What happens to a medical credit in NC once the patient is deceased and the estate is closed? How is it reported and to who?
 
I'd recommend starting by contacting the probate court in the jurisdiction where the patient resided for guidance on this, and also to find out if there are any provisions for distributions of new assets that are identified or found after the closure of the estate.
