I have a 5 year old patient with non congenital arteriosclerosis of the renal artery. I70.1 would be the applicable dx however there is an age restriction of 15-on..
No other dx qualifies. Age restrictions mandatory or a typical instruction, that this dx could be used if there is not other dx.
Any assistance would be great.
thank you

Sometimes we can only use a code that is "close enough".

In this case I would consider I77.89 "other specified disorder of arteries and arterioles" since there is no age restriction on this code
