What is the best injury code to use when a patient is found down/unconscious, but is conscious by the time they get to the ER? Thank you!
 
This description would not support an injury code.

What was the provider's assessment of the patient? If they did not render a diagnosis, then I would use code R40.20 as the reported symptom, since this code includes 'unconsciousness NOS'.
