Frequently parents will show up to an appointment ( General Peds) without the child discuss management of ADD, behavioral issues or developmental issues. Are these visits billable to Tennesee Medicaid as E&M services? (99212-99215) When researching , I see conflicting information usually stating CPT guidelines do allow for billing based on the wording face to face service with patient and/or family but CMS does not. Can anyone hlep me with this and also refer me to specific documentation that I can show my leadership?
