Good Morning,

We have a doctor who's dictation is questionable from a billing stand point. (ie no operative date mentioned). He has his own practice but does surgery in our hospital with one of our groups NP as his assisting. Since we can get him to correct or amend his dictation can we now ask for future events that he pay a percentage to the NP?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Beth Manus

Why aren't you billing the NP as an assist?

Why aren't you billing the NP as an assist at surgery? Of course the MD's operative note will have to be clear as to the NP's role as assist, as well as include critically important information (including date of service).

Hope that helps.
