Wiki PCP trying to code tooth pain, abscesses, and rotten teeth

First of all.... HAPPY FRIDAY!!

I have a couple of primary care providers that are using dental codes for tooth pain and/or abscessed tooth and/or rotting teeth because they don't know what they can code for reimbursement. Is there a code that the PCP can use to be reimbursed?
I see jaw pain, atypical mouth pain, etc.
Has any other coders that work in a family practice run into the same situations?
We had one patient that knew he was getting an abscessed tooth and couldn't get in touch with his dentist, so he reached out to his PCP so he could get an antibiotic in his system so he wouldn't have to go the entire weekend with a tooth ache and possible terrible infection.

Anyone have any suggestions or concrete guidelines for these situations. I am new to coding and do appreciate any guidance or help.
It is greatly appreciated.

did you ever find an answer to this? I am having the same problem with K04.7 being denied. If you have any advice for me I'd appreciate it! Thanks!
