HI
I bill for a large family practice. There are 4 family practitioners workingunder the same Tax Id at separate times. So here is the question, If a patient is assigned to Dr. A (pcp) and he comes on a day that Dr.A is not there; Dr.B then sees him the patient. If I submit the bill under Dr.B it will be denied. Doctors all keep telling me that because they are under a single Tax Id, it is ok for me to bill under Dr.A. I am not sure?
Can someone please help

covering PCP's

You should make sure the insurance company has all the physicians listed as covering physicians and then there should not be a problem getting paid.
