Is anyone billing a 94150 when doing a Peak Flow? I'm finding conflicting information, some saying it must be included in the E/M and can't be billed separately. Others saying that in the CPT Assistant Jul 05:11 it stated that this code could be billed for a peak flow.

Does anybody happen to have this article and what are other practices doing?

Thank you

Michelle

Almost all carriers don't reimburse the peak flow in addition to any other service - E/M or otherwise. You could check with your payers but we don't have any that do so we don't bill it. Medicare considers it a status "B" or bundled code and I think most carriers, around here anyway, are following that and use it as the reason not to pay.
