A patient came in to see the provider to talk about getting an epi-pen for a peanut allergy. The patient does not currently have any symptoms or a recent allergic reaction. I tried billing V15.01-personal hx of peanut allergy, but the insurance is denying this as diagnosis invalid. Is there another icd-9 code I can use?
