One of our PA's just inquired about the correct code to bill for removal of a PEG tube. It was an interventional radiology-placed gastrostomy tube, not a endoscopically placed PEG tube. This tube has what?s called a ?pig tail? which cannot be removed manually. The patient need to go to interventional radiology to have it removed. He researched and appears to be 97.51, do you know if this is correct?
