I have a patient that had a pap under aesthesia because she can not tolerate a pap in the office. What is the DX that would be appropriate to use in this case?
Thanks!

I would use the diagnosis for the documented reason you are performing the procedure - like perhaps Z12.4 encounter for screening for malignant neoplasm of cervix.
If there were other diagnoses indicated in the record (like an abnormal PAP, or pelvic pain, etc), then whatever code(s) correspond with the documentation.
I am unaware of any ICD10 to accurately represent history of a painful pelvic exam in office. Maybe Z87.42??????
