My neurologists are occasionally requested to perform electrodiagnostic studies on patients who are residents of a SNF. The patient comes to the office, we own the equipment and bill both the professional and technical component. Medicare is saying we can only bill the professional component with a 26 modifier because of the patient's inpatient status. Has anyone else heard of this? Help, please!
