Hello!

I am struggling with finding the best way to code this - I work in Peds and we sometimes have kiddos that come in with a severe diaper rash and the provider does a strep test and it comes back as perianal strep infection. The provider then chooses code A49.1 Streptococcal infection, unspecified site. I do not like this code as I know the exact site of the infection.

Would this be a better choice?
L08.9 Local infection of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, unspecified
B95.5 Unspecified streptococcus as the cause of diseases classified elsewhere (the RST doesn't say if it is A or B strep)

Thanks!
Erin
