Is the pulmonary artery considered a peripheral artery?

I belive peripheral artery or arteries are the ones which are in the outer regions of the heart thereby according to me pulmonary artery is not a peripheral artery.

Hello,

The Pulmonary artery carrying blood from the right ventricle of the heart to the lungs for oxygenation.

The peripheral vascular system consists of the veins and arteries not in the chest or abdomen (i.e. in the arms, hands, legs and feet). The peripheral arteries supply oxygenated blood to the body, and the peripheral veins lead deoxygenated blood from the capillaries in the extremities back to the heart.
