Looking in the ICD-10 Index - Peripheral Neuropathy directs you to tabular code G62.9. In ICD 9 if I'm not mistaken, unless specified otherwise, it would be assumed to be idiopathic leading you to 356.9. In ICD-10, Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy is a different code then Peripheral Neuropathy.

My inquiry is whether I'm assuming correctly that the doctor now must specify idiopathic rather then just stating Peripheral Neuropathy. Is this correct?
