Hi,
I am coding ABI reports (93923) that specifically state "microvascular disease is present". Is this sufficient to code I73.9? I am finding conflicting views. This is what I have come up with as evidence to code I73.9 - please comment!

Peripheral – any disease or disorder of the blood vessels outside the heart and brain.
Peripheral Vascular Disease – a slow and progressive circulation disorder. Narrowing, blockage, or spasms in a blood vessel can cause PVD. PVD may affect any blood vessel outside of the heart including arteries, veins, or lymphatic vessels.
I'm wanting to code I73.9 when the reports read: “microvascular disease”, “increased vascular resistance”, decreased elasticity”, “abnormal ABI”, etc.
Agree? Disagree? Recommendations?

Thank you!
