I have been searching high and low for an answer, so any help or direction is greatly appreciated. We fit and send patient's home with a new pessary. On occasion, after a few weeks the patient will return it either because it does not stay in place or it is uncomfortable/painful. We will sterilize and then restock the pessary. My question is, at that point am I obligated to refund the insurance for the pessary and/or is a pessary even a 'returnable' item? If we restock and bill a future patient for that pessary then we would have to reimburse the initial patient's insurance as to not 'double dip.' Thanks in advance for any help! :)
